Folio portfolio, 13-13/16" wide x 19" high (33 cm x 38.8 cm), brown cloth, paper cover label, string ties. No. 232 of 250 copies printed in Santa Barbara by Graham Mackintosh. First Edition. Contents consist of: an introduction/contents leaf and seven folio-sized recipes from the UCLA Library California Cookbooks Collection, representing the culinary history of California: Indian Period (Tortillas de Mais); Goldrush Days (Hangtown Fry); Pastoral California (Carne Tatemada [Barbecued Beef]); Railroad Empire (Eggs Boiled with Tea Leaves); Gilded Age (Celery Victor); Arts & Crafts Movement (Alligator Pear [Avocado] Soup); and Age of the Flapper (Penouchee). Signed by Mackintosh on introduction/limitation page. A bit of dustiness to cloth; intro page with minor creases to upper left corner & irregular fading to lower half within portfolio sleeve; other individual sheets are fine and worthy of framing.
